Acupuncture

The ancient art of acupuncture involves the placement of fine needles in the body to achieve an ideal balance of energy. The results of this highly tested practice include but certainly not limited to the reduction of pain or other symptoms, relieving anxiety, reducing stress, alleviating headaches, and giving patients a general sense of well being. The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as an effective remedy for over 40 disorders

Electro-Acupuncture

Very similar to regular acupuncture, electro-acupuncture also uses needles to effect the same points on the body. The difference is the needles are attached to a device that generates electrical pulses with small clips. The plus side to electric-current acupuncture is that it can effect a larger area due to the electric current. This form of acupuncture has been proven to help relieve pain and muscle spasms, improve neurological disorders, fight against skin conditions such as acne, and has also positively impacted the endorphin system.

Cupping

Cupping is a form of alternative medicine in which cups are placed upside down on the skin and utilizing a small vacuum lifting the skin up. This may cause the skin to redden. Cupping is used to promote blood flow by opening up the skins pores which releases toxins from the body. Cupping is not painful and should not last longer than 15 minutes. If Cupping lasts longer, this should be a special session with intense observation and care.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a practice of applying lubricant to a designated area and then utilizing a smooth instrument to perform unidirectional stokes. This treatment is a great anti-inflammatory technique and has also been known to relieve pain, hand numbness, stiffness, fever, wheezing, cough, colds, and vomiting.

Chinese Herbal Therapy

Chinese herbs prove themselves continuously by helping reduce symptoms as poor sleep, indigestion, pain and chronic cold and flu. Remedies vary from patented small pills to custom blends of loose herbs. Your practitioner may suggest Chinese herbs in tandem with your acupuncture treatment or as a stand-alone treatment for your ailments. Make an appointment to discuss what herbal blends suit your needs and experience the effects of this ancient medicine.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is an ancient eastern medicine technique that involves the burning and winnowing of mugwort, a sponge like herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion helps alleviate cold, arthritis pain, breach presentation, cancer or stroke symptoms and it promotes Qi. Patients experience a comforting warming sensation which helps catalyze energy flow throughout the body.
