Very similar to regular acupuncture, electro-acupuncture also uses needles to effect the same points on the body. The difference is the needles are attached to a device that generates electrical pulses with small clips. The plus side to electrocurrent acupuncture is that it can effect a larger area due to the electric current. Moxibustion is an ancient eastern medicine technique that involves the burning and winowing of mugwort, a sponge like herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion helps alleviate cold, arthritis pain, breach presentation, cancer or stroke symptoms and it promotes Qi. Patients experience a comforting warming sensation which helps catalyze energy flow throughout the body.
Gua Sha is a practice of applying lubricant to a designated area and then utilizing a smooth instrument to perform unidirectional stokes. This treatment is a great anti-inflammatory technique and has also been known to relieve pain, hand numbness, stiffness, fever, wheezing, cough, colds, and vomiting.
Chinese herbs prove themselves continuously by helping reduce symptoms as poor sleep, indigestion, pain and chronic cold and flu.
